I have strong concern for the safety of recreational beach users (walkers and families with children swimming or playing on the beach) on Parrys Beach, where vehicles are travelling on the narrow strip of sand between the boat launching area and the inlet mouth. This issue must be resolved before an accident occurs. I have personally witnessed a very close call with a small child running into the path of a vehicle on this stretch of beach, and a second incident of a trail bike users driving very dangerously between recreational walkers. The exclusion of all vehicles, except emergency vehicles and professional fishing vehicles during the salmon period, from this narrow strip of beach would allow for zoning of activities, with boat launching and vehicles separated from an area excluded for safe swimming and beach picnicing where the beach narrows. Vehicles could access the beach from the Parry Inlet road, so as to maintain vehicle access to more remote surfing areas further down the beach to the east of the Parry Inlet bar. There is less chance of accidents occurring on the wider beach area near and east of the inlet bar.
