Bridging the gap between policy and people since 2002.
Land Insights was founded by Perth-based Environmental Scientist and Urban and Regional Planner, Michael Taylforth, in 2002. Michael is backed by an experienced team of planning, development and environmental experts, including environmental scientists and specialist partners.
Michael established Land Insights to:
Bridge the gap between policy and people
Michael recognised that business owners were struggling to meet the legislative requirements needed to achieve their planning and development goals, and wanted to deliver a solution with an environmental focus.
Assist local government
With preparing and delivering robust, defendable and implementable strategic land-use and environmental plans.
To achieve this, Michael and his team spent many years building strong relationships with local and state government bodies, as well as developing an in-depth understanding of the regulations and policy that drive planning and development decisions.
Michael and his team work collaboratively with clients and regulators to achieve beneficial outcomes for all parties. He works with clients who have been with him since Land Insights was founded in 2002. Many other clients have worked with Land Insights for over a decade.

Our in-house environmental scientists integrate environmental and sustainability matters into our projects, which often streamlines the approvals process, and minimises impact on the environment.
Over time, our environmental focus has become stronger and stronger. Today, we see it as a key facet of what we do, and take pride in developing sustainable environmental strategies that align with the goals of our clients.
We are one of the few firms in Western Australia that can integrate planning and environmental matters in-house.
