Water Monitoring

Land Insights conducted two years of groundwater monitoring in Aveley to support a proposed Metropolitan Region Scheme (MRS) Amendment and the preparation of a District Water Management Strategy (DWMS). The project formed part of a broader planning proposal to rezone rural land to urban use.

To inform the DWMS, Land Insights installed and monitored a series of groundwater bores across the site. We recorded groundwater depth, conducted in-field water quality assessments, and collected samples every three months for laboratory analysis, following Department of Water and Environmental Regulation (DWER) guidelines.

The resulting dataset provided critical input into the site’s water management framework, allowing for assessment of seasonal fluctuations, baseline groundwater quality, and risks associated with future development. The findings were incorporated into the District Water Management Strategy, which formed a supporting technical report for the MRS Amendment.

This work demonstrates Land Insights’ capability in delivering long-term environmental monitoring to support major rezoning and planning proposals.
